crashing into the sun

crashing into the sun was written for Wonki Lee, saxophone, Riko Higuma, piano, as part of a 2012 Composer's Voice "Fifteen Minutes of Fame" concert. The works on the concert were all influenced by the music of Liana Alexandra. This work uses the jarring loud clusters which begin the third movement of her Symphony No. 4 as an ending point, with the piece an exercise in figuring out how to get there.
