Comminglings

Comminglings is a fantasy-study in shifting timbres and consonances. Relatively static passages based on the harmonic series or shimmering drones are contrasted by a recurring chord progression and linked melody. The ideas mingle and transform, finding new places to settle by the end. Comminglings was written for Fifth Inversion whose first performance of the work was at the 2017 National Flute Association Convention in Minneapolis.
